February 2013 Newsletter
Greetings to you from Tamatave- Madagascar where everything is happening! I am excited to say that we are now finally pitching our tent in Tamatave and being involved in a very exciting, life changing adventure with the Lord! This is the email I said I was sending.
Why we are here: Ever heard of the term friendly fire? It’s the bruises and hurts that missionaries and ministers of the gospel get when they are on the field. These often come from fellow missionaries and ministers of the gospel. Our emerging Christian leaders are hurting and traumatized because of unresolved trauma that they experience on the field. Little to no help at all is available for help them.
Some have left the mission field, others have stopped being Christian, others have joined other religions while others try to forget about it and struggle on! Pastoral care focused on missionaries and ministers of the gospel is essential; to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to the captives.
How we are working: Our role is of pastoral care to the missionaries and elders of the churches that have been planted by the Youth With A Mission- Frontier Missions Teams. Through being together as Jesus did with the 12, formal and informal interactions, counseling and intervention strategies and training of the trainer activities.
What we are doing: We (Brian and Miora) are in Tamatave where we are working with the frontier missions’ ministries of the missionary organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Frontier missions exist to reach out to the unreached people groups in countries or societies. I am serving as base pastor to the YWAM staff- taking care of those who are called to GO! My primary role is of pastoral care to the missionaries who are reaching out to those who are unreached.
Many a missionary have either left the mission field or live in the frontiers of pain because of hurts that result in the unavoidable conflicts that are met on the field. The mission field can and often does turn into a field of trauma if there is no help available. Pastoral care is a need on the mission field.
Miora is in the process of being grafted into the Frontier Missions leadership team- to help in the leadership to the movement.
Invitation: We invite you to become a stake holder in this new venture, to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to the captives
Stake Holder? As a stake holder, you partner with us in helping others in their healing and development into holistically healthier individuals. Your involvement with us is essentially a partnership between God, you and us to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to the captives.
Would you be willing to pray and consider joining our team of ministry partners by giving a monthly amount or prayer support, or practical help or other ways?
